Benefits of being a coordinator
Being an IEC isn’t just about doing good! Below are just some of the many benefits of getting involved.
Join an Amazing Family
As a member of the EF Foundation family, you’ll benefit from our exclusive multi-tiered system of support. We offer individual training and guidance on both the local and national levels.
Travel
Each year EF offers an all-expenses paid conference in places such as Wellington or Christchurch, as well as Regional Meetings all across New Zealand. IECs also have the opportunity to be chaperones on EF Discovery Tours, and get a free trip! It's a great way to make friends from across New Zealand!
Get Reimbursed
EF Foundation offers reimbursements for necessary expenses as determined by the Auckland office. After all, our program couldn’t exist without your hard work!
Use EF Foundation Resources
EF Foundation coordinators gain access to a wealth of host family recruiting tools such as flyers, posters, press releases, media advisories, and public service announcements. There’s no need for you to worry when it comes to promoting the program in your area. We’ve done the work for you!
Do it Together!
Some of our IECs are IEC couples—husbands and wives who work as a team to bring exchange to their hometown. Being local coordinators is a great way for you and your spouse to spend time doing good together.
Be Proud of Your Contribution
As an International Exchange Coordinator, you’ll be a leader in your community. Even better, you’ll have the chance to really make a difference in the lives of exchange students, many of whom will go on to be leaders in their home countries.
Multiply Your Power to Change the World
As a host parent, you’ll change the world one student at a time. As an IEC who gets to choose how many students as you'd like to mentor throughout the year, you’ll have the ability to make an even bigger impact. Of course, you can host and be an IEC at the same time. Many people do!
Make New Friends, Learn New Things, and Have Fun
Each student you supervise offers new opportunities for laughs, learning, and lifetime friendships. Many IECs feel that this is the only benefit that truly matters!
